Approved project proposals - Bosnia and Herczegovina Title: “From grey to green” CSO Contact: Futura Plus, Teslic Amount: 9.000 EUR Description: Objectives: Establish the dialogue of different parties involved, and strengthen the influence on the decision makers. Increase the public awareness about the significance of green surfaces for the sustainable urban development in Teslić Establish the positive examples of good practice in the action of „turning the town green“. Pilot project of „turning the town green“, (create 6.200 m² of green area, plant 200 seedlings of cypresses, 40 seedlings of birch – tree, 32 seedlings of linden – tree, as well as 62 seedlings of  decoration plants). Title: “Set an example for others - manage waste properly” CSO Contact: Center for environmentally sustainable development, Sarajevo Amount: 9.500 EUR Description: Objectives: To instigate all stakeholders and partners to participate in project activities and after their end to enable continuation of activities on promotion of sound waste management. To raise awareness of “Centar” Municipality citizens about negative impacts of excessive generation and unconscientiously disposal of waste in urban environment. To educate citizens through local community centers, student populations and employers about application of good waste management practices. To promote sustainable urban development and sound waste management, and give concrete contribution to implementation of LEAP in “Centar” Municipality. Activities: Instigation of stakeholders and partners to participate in the project. Preparation and organization of round table with the following topic: “How to handle waste in our Municipality!?”. Preparation, printing and distribution of educational brochure and leaflets about application of good practices in waste management. Educational lectures in schools/ in local community centers / for employers. Visit of target group representatives to a natural heritage site in the area of Centar Municipality. Visit of target group representatives to the Sarajevo Landfill. Concrete actions aimed at solving of waste management problems in selected local communities. Final promotion of the project. Title: “We have a right to a healthy life, too” CSO Contact: Environmental movement - Eco green, Tuzla Amount: 8.100 EUR Description: Objectives: Construction of the green areas on the borders of the cinder and ash depots. Reconstruction and decoration of the park, construction of the trail and benches along the trail. Reconstruction of the recreation courts for volleyball, basketball and football. Construction of the green islands, on which the waste will be disposed separately in marked containers. Starting and leading the public campaign for installing the heating system in the “Bukinje” community. Raising the ecological awareness in the citizens through education Forming and running the ecological patrol. Establishing regular workshops in primary and secondary schools in Banja Luka area after the end of project. Educate members of Roma association “Veseli brijeg“ on waste issues. Strengthen public awareness and information of all stakeholders about reduction of waste and sorting waste process in place of origin in accordance with ecological and economic aspects, about health problems in community (unless former behaviour does not change) via media and promotional materials. Improve information flow about sorting waste process in place of origin, economic benefit for active citizens who participate in sort waste process in place of origin, create “info-sort” bills for service of municipal waste transport. Cleaning of neglected neighbour “Bokulja” Monitoring and evaluation Expected outcomes: 4.000 leaflets printed and distributed in Jablanica municipality 30 minutes long of the TV educational show (14 broadcastings of it) 20 Lectures in  primary schools and 24 in the secondary schools Public educational gatherings in 9 local communities Focus group education of 2 Roma people groups carried out Clean neighbourhood „Bokulja“ Title: “Responsibility for water quality and consumption in public buildings” CSO Contact: Center for development and support, Tuzla Amount: 9.000 EUR Description: Objectives: To increase, through regular school teaching and other school out-of-curriculum activities to be held in the course of the project, awareness of the students,  management and teachers in the 3 target primary schools in Tuzla, and of the relevant  stakeholders, and level of their information on principles of sustainable development in sphere of water management, rights and obligations of all the project participants in accordance with the Law on Water, and on effective and practical methods and opportunities for saving water in school buildings, for which smaller or larger financial investments are or are not required To initiate process of passing relevant policy documents that clearly define obligations related to implementation, financing and overseeing preventive, systematic, and transparent monitoring of hygienic and health correctness of drinking water at the tap inside the premises of all public buildings in the area of the Tuzla Canton, by opening constructive dialogue among all the relevant stakeholders and decision-makers on all aspects of this sphere, based on the situation in the three target schools, with participation of general public. Activities: Kick-off meeting of all the project stakeholders and selection of the three primary schools in Tuzla; Kick-off meeting with management of the three target schools with the aim to introduce them to the project. Appoint consultant to produce elaborate on measures of water savings, based on the Law on Water of the Federation BiH; Production of the ELABORATE 1 (regarding water consumption) based on the situation in the three target schools – Activities in this segment will be focused on creation of elaborate and measurements for saving water, on the example of the three primary schools which will be selected in the Tuzla. This document will serve as a starting point and operational framework for series of theoretical and practical educational activities related to different aspects of rational consumption of water;     Presentation of the measurements results to the management/directors of the three schools and giving recommendations (based in elaborate) for rational consumption of water in future; Informing students of the three schools, through regular teaching, on importance of water and practical methods of savings (emphasizing terms of the Law); Organizing excursions of the students of the three schools /visiting key points of the Tuzla water-supply system; Creative activities of students in out-of- school curricula; exhibitions of the products, selection of the best works and providing awards to the best students; Media coverage of the project activities; Presentation of this problem to all the project stakeholders;  Production of ELABORATE 2 ( regarding water quality) based on testing quality of water in the three schools, following terms of the Law on Waters and other relevant laws and regulations; Elaborate the forum of all the project stakeholders; Presentation of results and recommendations of the decision makers; Monitoring of further activities of the decision makers.
