Master Class announcement: Green economy and possibilities for public participation in Belarus

Organised by IPO Ecopartnership, Minsk, Belarus, in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Center (REC), Hungary.

A two-and-a-half-day capacity-building programme is being offered to environmental CSOs in Belarus between May 29 and 31, 2014. The programme is targeted at leaders of CSOs active in the field of environmental protection and sustainability.

The overarching topic of the programme is green economy, which is subdivided into energy, agriculture and water resources. Participants will also receive an overview of the international situation, tendencies in the environmental sector and the role of CSOs. The topics will be tailored to the situation in Belarus, and the primary aim of the Master Class is to help participants identify real opportunities for CSOs to initiate change in the country.

The programme places emphasis on practical learning, and participants are expected to share their practical experience.

Participants will be awarded a certificate on completing the programme.

Places are available for a maximum of 25 participants. Priority will be given to representatives of CSOs participating in SECTOR programme activities. CSOs are expected to send one representative each, although multiple representatives may be considered pending the availability of places.
