Grazia has been working for the Development Communication division of the World Bank since 2001 as an expert in strategic communication to achieve participatory development.

Prior to joining the Bank, she worked for the Italian Embassy in Riyadh and the European Commission in Brussels;

She holds a Master degree in Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges, and a Master equivalent degree in Political Sciences from the University of Siena;

A native of Italy, she speaks Italian, French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Paolo Mefalopulos, The DevComm Team, The World Bank Group

Paolo holds a doctorate degree in communication from the University of Texas.

His professional career began in the Italian private sector, working for a national television network and training institution of a major corporation (ISVOR-FIAT).

He has worked extensively in the field of information, education and communication for UNESCO, FAO and the European Union.

Currently he serves as Senior Communication Officer in the Development Communication Division of the World Bank.

He is co-author of a handbook on Participatory Rural Communication Appraisal.

Dragoljub Todic, Serbia

Currently serves as environment Professor at Belgrade’s Megatrend University.

For over ten years worked for the federal environmental authorities.

Fields of interest include legal regulation of environmental protection, environmental policy and management, human rights protection, international cooperation in the environmental field, the EU environmental policy and law, migration, refugees, etc.

Published (as author or coauthor) ten books and more than eighty articles and other shorter works.

Tihomir Knežicek, Freelance Trainer/Consultant, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Tihomir holds a doctorate degree in mining engineering from the University of Tuzla, B&H.

Since 1986 is professor and researcher at the University of Tuzla

Since 1996 has worked for international and local NGOs as trainer of institutional development at USAID DemNet and UNDP SUTRA.

Since 2004 serves as President of the Trainers’ Network Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Carried out training and ToT for more than 350 NGOs, government bodies and businesses, evaluated 6 EC funded projects. Published 4 textbooks and produced more than 45 training and associated materials.

Vedran Peršic,
Prime Communications, Bosnia and Herzegovina

As aency director, counsels clients on media and public relations, writes and implements PR strategies.

Is trainer at two PR schools in Sarajevo on crisis communication, press conference preparation and press release writing skills.

Spokesman of the International Overseer for the Peace Agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR) and at International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).

Steering Board Member of BiH's PR Association (PRIBA)

Extensively experienced in broadcast journalism in BiH, contributing to the CNN World Report and human rights stories for UNTV.

Passionate basketball player.

Jordan Bajraktarov, World Organization of Scout Movement, Macedonia (Trainer and Co-author)

Currently serves as Field Executive for South East Europe of the World Organization of Scout Movement, working in Belgrade.

Prior to joining the Scouts, Jordan served as project manager for almost 8 years for REC Country Office Macedonia.

He has worked on SEE development issues since 1997, during which time he has delivered many trainings in the fields of public participation and presentation/communication skills to trainers and CSOs alike, as well as served as a consultant for several international and domestic organizations.

He is the author and co-author of several publications on public participation and community based planning, many of them published by the REC Country Office Macedonia.

Natasha Dokovska, Journalists for Children and Women rights and Environmental Protection, Macedonia

Natasha is the Director of the Journalists for Children and Women rights and environmental protection.

She is an international trainer in Public Relations accredited by the International Corte school for PR (Corsica, France) and in peace journalism as accredited by Transcendent.

She has also author several books:
- Golem Grad - island of snakes
- How to establishe and maintaine contact with the media
- Peace journalism as tools in communication

Natasha is a Member of the International Federation of Environmental Journalists as well as GREENACCORD.

Daliborka Uljarevic, CGO, Montenegro

Montenegro

Daliborka is Executive Director of the Centre for Civic Eduation in Podgorica, where she has worked for the last five years. She also serves as a trainer/consultant for CRNVO in diverse fields.

Prior to this she served as Political and Media Advisor at the Council of Europe in Montenegro, and BBC local producer. She also worked for OSCE in Montenegro and IFES from Washington in Serbia.

She has a BSc in International Affairs from the University of Belgrade and is now pursuing LLM (Master of Law) at the University of Montenegro.

She has researched, edited and published extensively in the fields of gender, civil society, human rights, democracy, public administration and EU affairs.

Mirna Karzen,
Karzen & Karzen d.o.o., Croatia

A native of Rijeka, Croatia, Mirna spent over a decade working in the US for international organizations (UNDP, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, World Learning).

Has a Masters degree in International Affairs.

Spent five years at the Urban Institute in Croatia as local government expert, providing city/municipality assistance in citizen participation, effective communication and management.

Since 2007, is co-founder of a regional sustainable development company, offering business consulting, proposal development, strategic planning, and project management services.

Mirna is also an author of a number of articles, training manuals and publications, and an experienced trainer.

Andreja Tonc,
ADD team ltd, Croatia

Croatia

Andreja acquired a social work degree from the University of Zagreb, and has completed additional training programmes for providing consulting services (e.g. Civil Society Development Foundation, Institute for Public Research International, University of Connecticut)

She has ten years of experience in providing educational services in the CSO development field, including local community development, public participation, preparation and implementation of projects financed from EU funds and programmes or other donors.

As manager of ADD team ltd, references include the Helsinki Consulting Group, EC Delegation to Croatia, Academy for Educational Development, REC and various Croatian Ministries.

Andreja has authored many manuals and publications incl: Public Participation in Decision-Making, Communication and Presentation Skills, and How to Engage Citizens in Local Community Projects


Alban Bala, COMPORT, Albania

Albania

Alban established the first PR company in Albania in 2003, offering integrated communication services and which has since excelled for instance in producing social marketing campaigns.

Prior to COMPORT, he worked for five years as a journalist with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Alban started his working career at the Albanian Parliament as Director of Information, Documentation and Research Dept. He has also served the Democratic Party of Albania as spokesperson and campaign strategist.

Alban holds a BSC Diploma in PR and Journalism, while is currently undertaking an online master’s degree.

Alban enjoys literature and is the author of six books, two of which are collections of poems. He also plays guitar and piano and speaks English, Italian, German and some French.


Avdyl Lipoveci, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kosovo

Kosovo

Avdyl graduated in Journalism from Tirana University, Albania and is currently a Bachelor of Sociology at Prishtina University.

He is a freelance trainer, having undertaken capacity building for various institutions and companies in the areas of strategic communications, public relatons, strategic planning and organisationsal management.

After completing his studies in journalism, between 2005 and 2007 he worked for as Secretary General of the Balkan Institute for Research and Development.

He currently serves as Senior Officer for Coordination of EU Assistance at the Kosovo Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
